What can we expect?

A ton of fun in a safe environment! Firstly, one of our highly trained axe-perts will run through the safety rules with everyone, and then show you all the basics of throwing an axe before your session begins. You will then begin throwing, playing games and vying for glory! Our axe-perts will be on hand throughout to help and guide you.

Is it safe?

Absolutely – it’s much safer than you think! With our safety measures in place, you shouldn’t be worried at all!

How much does it cost?

A 1-hour session costs $30 +tax per person. If you wish to add an extra hour to your 1 hour session you can do so for an extra $20. Groups of 6+ people require a 2-hour session and costs $48 +tax per person.  If you select a group of 6 or more you will automatically be charged $48 per person.

How long does it take?

The minimum session will take approximately 1hr which includes your training. For groups of 6 or more the session will take a minimum of 2hrs.  Please arrive 15 minutes before your booking time to ensure your session starts on time.

How old do I have to be to play?

The minimum age requirement for hatchet and axe throwing at Urban Axe Yard is 6 years old during all hours EXCEPT for after 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. After 7 p.m. on Friday & Saturday, guests must be 18 or older.

PLEASE NOTE: We have a  zero-tolerance policy for underage drinking!

There is a strength restriction. If we feel that a person is not strong enough to throw the axe in a safe manner, then we will not let them throw. Those up to the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult and their waiver signed by a parent/guardian.

When can I schedule an axe throwing game?

We highly recommend booking your axe throwing session online here, plenty of time beforehand to avoid disappointment or wait times that may come with walking in.

Is there special pricing for larger groups?

Please contact us via e-mail or phone if you are planning an event for a group of 30 or more, and we will discuss all your options

What are the minimum and maximum group sizes?

We can accept any number of throwers from 1 to over 70!

Do you accept walk-ins?

Though we will try to accommodate walk-ins whenever possible, it is not something we recommend. We’d hate for you to drive here just to be turned away! Due to the popularity of our hatchet and axe throwing bar, we are normally pretty booked with reservations, especially on the weekends! Our reservation system lists all available times for each day.  If no times are listed, we will not have space for you on that date. (Sorry!) However, if we do have slots of open availability, we’d be  happy to bring you in! You can also call our location to ask if we can accommodate you and your group.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing which will allow movement to throw an axe. It is also required that you wear closed toe shoes when throwing an axe!

What is the lateness policy?

We ask that you arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time to allow for check in and lane assignment so that you can start on time. If you arrive late and past your start time, you will just have less time to throw and nobody wants that!

How long does training take?

Only 5-10 minutes for safety and the basics of axe throwing, however we will be on hand to guide you throughout your session.

Is your facility wheelchair accessible?

Yes, our facility is up to ADA standards.

Do you serve alcohol?

Yes we do. Beer, wine, cider and hard seltzers are available.

How far in advance should I book?

For Friday’s, Saturday’s and Holidays as far in advance as possible as these are our busiest days

What is the reschedule/cancellation policy?

If you cancel more than 2 weeks beforehand you will receive a full refund of your deposit. Cancellations after that will result in a full credit for another session.

Can I bring my own axe?

Yes you can, we just ask that you tell the front desk and allow them to check your axe for integrity to ensure it does not damage our facility.

Do you offer catering?

Yes, we can organize catering for larger groups and those who book our VIP room

Can we bring our own drinks?

No, you can buy a variety of drinks, including soft drinks at our bar.

Sure they can! With that being said, the rule still applies that all Urban Axe Yard's guests must still meet the minimum age requirements of 18, whether they are  throwing or not!
